19 News Press Release on October 5, 2007:
Meals on Wheels is coming to Fluvanna County. In the past, elderly, disabled and low-income residents of Fluvanna County would have to rely on service from surrounding counties for a hot meal. Starting this October all of that will change. This new chapter will serve the entire county with the help of a local church and the University of Virginia catering services. “A daily visit from Meals on Wheels volunteers helps ensure a connection with the community and if there’s something wrong or something that can be done, it can be communicated” said Don Morton, one of the co-founders of the Fluvanna Chapter. Before meals can hit the road, the chapter is looking for a few volunteers.
