Fluvanna Meals on Wheels held a Grand Opening to share their new packing kitchen with the community. The local non-profit needed kitchen space and storage for supplies to continue their mission of feeding homebound neighbors and prepare for future program growth.
The kitchen space was renovated from office space to a packing kitchen. Mike Himes with Fluvanna Habitat for Humanity along with the group of their Volunteers called the “Rusty Nailz”, worked for months to get the new space ready.
The renovations to the existing space and rent of the space for almost 3 years were paid for in full by grants received from Adiuvans Relief Fund, Charlottesville Area Community Foundation and Dominion Foundation.
Fluvanna Meals on Wheels thanks their Volunteers and Community Supporters for the continued support for the last 14 years. A special thank you to Effort Baptist Church for their support and the use of their kitchen since 2008.
